Monastery Point is a shore accessible salt water dive site, located in Carmel, CA. The maximum depth is over 150ft/46m. The average visibility is 16-20ft/5-6m.
This dive site is for experienced divers only. It is is a small cove by point Lobos in Carmel. Make sure you judge the wind as you need to enter and exit from the protected side if the cove. Wave swells can reach 11 feet in the middle. There is plenty of kelp beds, seea otters and seals in the area to observe. If you hug the south end and travel to the ’lip’ the sea canyon starts and the is a giant sea anenamie about 4-5 feet around sitting at 135 feet of water. It is truly a giant to look at.
