Yes, he had been a diver for 35 years and an instructor for probably 25 - 30 of those years. About 18 months ago he took a neuro hit, after which he has been unable to return to the water due to persistent virtigo and other issues resulting from the DCS hit. It has obviously put an end to both his career in the dive industry and his love of diving. All his buddies feel sad about his situation, but helpless to do anything about it.
