I started scuba diving in 1963 with the Dolphin Underwater Club, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. I dived with Colin Taylor, curator at the Oceanarium, researching dolphin behaviour and communication.


Back then we made our own wet-suits. There were no BCDs or stab-jackets. No depth gauge, no SPG. Sharks were perceived as a diving hazard - now we go out looking for them !


Best dives? - Hurghada, Sipadan, Gaunaja - and all those to come.
