This has taken me awhile to get to. I went on a liveaboard called the Nekton Pilot. For the most part I had a great time. The diving was amazing. I was told that viz was not as good usual. I thought it was great, especially compared to Maine waters! Over the two weeks, I had eleven days of diving averaging four dives a day! I had my 100th dive during the second week, which I was talking into doing naked! All I can say to that is WOW!! The crew was awesome! They ended up covering my equipment with 30 glow sticks!! Some were quite nicely placed......Thanks to Ginge and Don. Anyway, viz was anywhere from 10-80` depending on currents and weather. Overall we had two days of "bad" weather, the rest were between eighty and ninety. I came back with one hell of a tan! We mostly dove the walls. Lots of sea life, different fish (most of the names I have forgotten by now, spotted eagle rays, sting rays, barracudas, one nurse shark that scared the ever loving crap out of Joe and I, and my all time favorite....several hawksbill turtles. Something about them was so peaceful. I could have swam with them for hours. We saw some dolphins during the second week, and a couple of manatees during the first. I miss the weather, the crew, and most of all the diving. I cant wait to go back! I have added some of the better pictures to my page if anyone would like to take a look. Just for reference....right now in Maine it is four degrees outside and there is at least three feet of snow on the ground with another storm on the way!! I love snow, but I could do without the cold.
