My son and I went with N-depth scuba to Ventura, stayed aboard the Spectre and dove 2 days with 3 dives each around the Channel Islands. Brrrr it was cold, day one (snowing/freezing rain on the boat trip to the island) my gauges read 48 degrees at 35 feet. Vis was good and lots of sea life thru the kelp, but did I mention it was cold??? Thankfully I was doing my dry suit cert dives (and that hot tub on-board was HOT!), my son was trooper in his 7mil, brrr! but I had offered him to get his dry suit too. Lots of fun, on board and at night in the harbor, though there was that one nut who must have watched the Simpsons movie on the bus over and he kept singing "spider pig, spider pig..."
