Just got back from San Ignacio, Baja, Mexico where we had two days of playing with gray whales. This was a whale encounter activity from a boat, and not an in-water activity. It would be dangerous for people and the whales to be in the water together, and these guys a very much protected. Their migration was a bit late this year, but there were still over 100 whales to play with, both mama and baby whales. The weather was cooler than normal, but we always go prepared for the worst, and it worked out OK. This is getting to be a very popular event, and there are more and more enterprising people providing all inclusive package trips, and next year`s reservations will need to be made extra early.
