I Just got back from a trip to Kauai diving off the Na Pali coast (Mana Cracks) and a few on the south shore.
Overall it was a good time and the diving was pretty good with several gray reef sharks, an eagle ray and white tip reefies. Nudebranches and the endemic species like triggerfish and butterflyfish were also out with many of the local green sea turtles (several really big).
The plankton bloom has begun and visibility was suffering a bit. Around 50-70 feet. But the word is out that whale sharks had been sighted at Nihau, the private island off to the northwest.
I’ll include some video in the next few weeks.
Aloha!
Jeff
