I want to buy my first bc and i would love feedback on whats your favorite. Back inflate vs vest, brands and comfort. I like the SeaQuest Pro QD + BCD with SureLock weight system. Just looking for divers input.

romeo25411 - 6/30/2008 5:36 PM Any back plate and harness with Dive Rite being my favorite (that is - if you plan to progress in your diving). Wing can be sized to your diving and easily interchanged for singles and doubles. Should not have a need for weights and the system can be fully customized to your desire. Hope this helps.

AirOn - 6/30/2008 4:46 PM I dive a SeaQuest Balance. Its a backfloat design. Has pleanty of metal D rings. Weights are nicely secured with an audable SNAP sound. Has a pocket that you can pull a tab free of velcro on the bottom and it tripples in size to an integrated goody bag with a zipper top. It also has the integrated Air Source II I’ve been very pleased with. Has 3 air dump valves including one for when your head down to you don’t need to invert to dump air. The others are located on each shoulder. One open my a pull cord at your right chest, the other opens when you pull firmly on the integrated air hose. To get in... Shrug the BC on however your doing it, then clip the waist, pull the 2 belt straps outward, then clip the sternum and pull the two shoulder straps downward. Done.

ScubaStevesWife - 6/30/2008 9:16 AM I am the newest fan of the Zeagle BCD’s. My husband dives with the Stilletto, and its probably the most popular one at the dive shop we work with. You can get a tailored fit if needed. If a strap breaks, you only replace the strap, as well as other pieces that can be upgraded or replaced over time. It’s weight integrated. They are made here in the U.S, and they’re turn around maintenence is very quick. I exchanged shoulder straps for a snugger fit, but was able to keep the size of my waste fastener. It also minimizes squeeze around your rib cage, thus lending easier breathing and a more comfortable fit. They main thing though, is to buy a bcd from one of your local vendors, mainly for when repairs or service is needed. The warranty is a wonderful thing!

hughisland - 6/29/2008 8:09 AM If you are a newly certified diver then a vest type is the easiest to swim with. I started with a Scubapro Glide Plus and still do most of my diving and teaching with it. Integrated weights are definitely a plus.

stitches - 6/27/2008 7:22 PM hey there I thought I would let you know that I dive the Seaquest Pro Unlimited BC with surelock weight system and have the Airsource Installed been diving this BC for almost four years put over 100 dives fresh and salt BC has really held up well still looks new. has really made diving enjoyable and I do dive in comfort. have not dived a dack inflate BC so can’t comment on that My dive buddy has always used the black diamond and has never had a problem with it and no complaints. I do alot of diving along quarry walls and will dive facing the wall on my side with no problem, tend to hang upside down quite abit also, if I’m not carful I might get to be known as flipflop. Not sure if this helps you, I can asure you that with this BC you can swim in any position with comfort. Happy diveing to ya.
