On April 22nd several dive buddies of mine and I went 47 miles off the Carolina Beach coast. We dove in 110 feet of water. The visibility was strange. For the first 15 feet it was crystal clear, then from there on down the visibility was limited to only about 10 feet. As soon as I got on the bottom, I was met by a very large Lionfish. I left him alone and he left me alone. I did get some interesting video of him though. This was the deepest that I have been so far. It was great, but humbling. I am looking forward to going back when the visibility is great all the way to the bottom. My buddies did some spear fishing and lobster wrestling. We ended up with enough fish to pay for our trip and a half-a-dozen large spiny lobsters. This was a great trip and memorable day.
