Stayed up late Friday night putting my gear together and making a few adjustments to my equipment. My drysuit seemed to also have a small seepage in the neck so I checked it out and found a pinhole in the back of the seal. Since i was meeting the boat in about 5 hours a quick fix with some neoprene cement would have to do. After catching a few hours sleep it was time to head down to the docks to meet our dive boat. At 66 degrees it was a warm morning for October and the clouds where breaking, promising a nice morning. Driving along the beach I could see that the sea was relatively flat, a small one foot swell at best. Crossing the bridge, the bay was glass flat, this should be a great day. At the dock, we geared up, waiting for our ride to the wreck of the Seawolf. And then the catch. As the boat pulled to the dock, the captain told us the dive was off. The inlet we needed to pass through was impassable. 7-8 foot breakers would make the ride dangerous in the 26 foot catamaran. Well, that’s Northeast diving in the fall...We’ll try again tomorrow.
