I went over Labor Day weekend on a trip organized by N-Depth Scuba of Chandler, Arizona. For me this was a great trip with interesting dive sites, very well organized and run. Many of the sites have fairly steep drop offs that are essentially a continuation of the cliff faces you see above water. I was interested in playing with my new toy (camera) and got a lot of great subject matter. (Not that the pictures all turned out great, but I`m learning) so I pretty much stayed above 80ft. The Saturday dives were off of San Padre Island and were my favorite (I met up with the dive buddy in the picture on one of these dives). The price was reasonable and the crew from N-Depth was awesome. I think they did a great job of meeting the needs of students doing certification dives and those of us on the trip for fun (there were both open water and advanced students on the trip). The trip left early Friday morning from Chandler by bus, arriving in San Carlos that afternoon, with one afternoon dive and one night dive on Friday. On Saturday there was a longer boat ride to San Padre Island, with one morning and one afternoon dive. There were two dives Sunday morning, then the bus back to Chandler. I like to look in nooks and crannies, under ledges and find what’s hanging out there and there were neat walls and rock fall areas near the cliff bases to explore. I also got a huge adrenaline rush from having a sea lion come out to play. I also really liked the Cortez Angel fish, which are very colorful and abundant (I just added one to the photo’s on my profile page).
