K-Bay / MCBH
I am renting a 6 person boat at the MCBH on Thursday (11 NOV 10). We are diving somewhere in K-Bay. I am looking for recommendations or if anybody is looking to dive (must have your own gear and tanks) we might have room left with enough notice. I have extra weight for one more person but only enough cylinders for me and my buddy. We are looking at 0745 - 1200. Any recommendations on where to dive or where not dive would be appreciated. Moving to Hawaii
I am being stationed in Hawaii (Oahu, Fort Shafter). I am looking for any advice for good places to dive, dive shops to hook up with, etc. Shore diving, boat diving, etc. You name it I need the details. I will have 3 years to see and dive it all. I am scheduled to arrive in early January 2010. Also, any places to avoid both diving and living. Any other input is appreciated too.Thanks....

Completed Instructor Exams
On 02 AUG 09 I completed the PADI Instructor Exam with flying colors. I didn’t have the time or energy or motivation to post my IDC progress like some. I was fortunate to come back from Afghanistan (end of June) and be allowed to start DiveMastering classes (2 in a month), a PADI Seal Team Class, and complete my IDC before the 01 AUG 09 IE in Nagodoches, Texas. "We Ain’t Scared Trip" (Piggy Flu)
UPDATED 24 MAY 09: We are getting a room with a Jacuzzi tub on the balcony and the all inclusive food and drinks. We are planning on 1 day of shore exploration with a trip to Sanchos. We are packing bio-degradeable sun screen to help protect the reef. We are definately going to Cozumel Diving this Summer (August) when I get back from Afghanistan. The prices should be even cheaper. If they don’t have a travel ban we are going to call ahead and negotiate for a better deal. A little Piggy Flu scare...

Summer 2009 Dive Trips
UPDATE 28 APR 09: The Swine Flu has settled it...discounted prices in Mexico, O’Yeah. We are going to dive Cozumel. We are negotiating for a lower price on the executive suite because we aren’t afraid of a little "Piggy Flu." We will be there in August...we will know if there is a travel ban by then or not. UPDATE(s): (as of 29 MAY 09) My promotion board results are due out on 09 JUN 09. We are planning a dive trip to Mammoth Lake/Scuba Park, Texas over the 4th of July weekend. (as of 15 APR 09) I am working on my Instructor certification upon my return from Afghanistan. If things go as planned I will be complete before 01 AUG 09. Need Dive Ideas Please
UPDATE: Trip completed. I didn’t map this out well...thought I wanted to try Disneyworld and the Manatees. We snorkeled with the Manatees at Crystal River Florida. A great trip. We stayed in the Days Inn and did the Snorkel Trip with the shop right behind them. A Very Professional organization. Some groups/people are trying to stop the interaction tours...completely stupid. Enforcing the current regulations and mandatory education/training for staff and visitors alike is the answer. Not renting ...

South Padre Island Input
UPDATED: 31 DEC 08. Trip was a success. I need some input on South Padre Island diving. My wife and I are going there for a week and we want to dive. Does anyone have information on shore diving (locations, guides, shops, etc) in the area. We are also interested in some off shore boat diving (rigs, wrecks, etc.). Any information will be helpful.
