Spring Dive Trip
We’re camping at Devil’s Den (http://www.devilsden.com/) and plan on hitting Devil’s Den, Blue Grotto (http://www.divebluegrotto.com/indexflash. html) and Manatee Spring State Park (http://www.floridastateparks.org/manateesprings/default.cfm). Key West or Bust
I am so excited! We’re heading down to Key West on Monday for 5 days. My friend from Georgia that I met at Blue Grotto is headed to our house on Sunday and then Monday we’re taking the Key West Express down. Garbage Island
I watched a documentary on www.vbs.tv yesterday that really opened my eyes. There is a section in the Pacific Ocean they now call Garbage Island. Spring Hopping in Florida
We decided to take a trip Memorial Day weekend, so we decided to hit some springs with friends that have never been fresh water diving. We checked into the Cadillac Motel in High Springs Friday night. The accommodations were pretty good, plus you had a full size refrigerator and a microwave in each room. Ginnie Springs this weekend!
We’re headed back to Ginnie Springs this weekend for some well deserved rest and relaxation! Oh, and diving too! If anyone has any ideas on other springs close to Ginnie Springs, please let me know. We looked into going to Devil’s Den, Blue Grotto, Fanning Springs, Troy Spring and maybe hit Silver Glen Springs on the way home on Monday. We just don’t know which springs would be the best dives. Beach and Boat diving last weekend
We went diving last weekend! We did a beach dive on Saturday at Coquina Beach. The weather was fantastic and I got to dive twice that day. The water temp was about 72 degrees there. Sunday we dove with some friends on 1 mile reef. After the initial shock of the water temp, it was a great dive. It was 65 degrees with only a 3 mil. The vis was only about 10 feet, but we saw some huge sheepshead, snapper and my boyfriend speared a hogfish so I had a great dinner. Thanks to our friends Randi and Ren...
