SJDC was created for the sole purpose of getting people together to DIVE and have fun with North Atlantic diving. This isn’t to say we don’t like diving the tropical waters of the world, but diving the North Atlantic can be just as fun and exciting...sometimes more so. Just imagine exploring a shipwreck that is over a hundred years old or a ship that was sunk by a torpedo from a German sub in WW II. Or diving on a German sub! Or bringing up fresh fish and lobster for dinner. Our little part of the ocean is loaded with possibilities for anyone willing to partake.
Aside from diving, SJDC is also involved in environmental activities, such as beach clean-ups and ocean clean-ups so that we can continue to enjoy the underwater world for generations to come.
SJDC also provides an open forum for divers to get together to do what we all do when we’re not diving... talk about diving. Meetings are once a month and a great place for sharing stories, learning the latest in diver safety, finding a buddy, or whatever else inflates your BC.
