Went out with Oasis Divers (booked through Carnival). They were very knowledgeable and showed that they really cared about their environment. They were just a little bit on the rude side a few times with less experienced divers, talking down to them when they did not know something.
The dive site was excellent. Spotted a 3-4’ nurse shark as soon as I reached bottom. Also saw a Lion Fish as I went through the arch, hiding in a small crevice. We were joined by a turtle for a while, and had many tropical fish to see. The reef wall drops-off pretty sharp, so take care to watch your gauge. Saw a 24" wide ray just before returning to the boat.
Between dive sites, our boat captain spotted a yacht with their anchor in the coral. He pulled nearby and yelled to them that they were damaging the reef. They claimed to be in the sand with a 100’ line, but the angle said otherwise. As we began to pull away, he noticed a diver coming up with a spear gun. He returned to yell at them for illegal spear fishing. It was a bit awkward for the passengers, but he was protecting his home.
