Where many Boston area divers get certified when the ocean’s too cold. Hathaway’s Pond is great for open water and advanced navigation/rescue certifications due to its shielding from wind disturbance and simple underwater topography. Only bad thing to be said is the muck/algae cover is thick an easily disturbed so vis can get pretty bad during certs but its all part of the learning experience. Fish life is minimal, some perch, pumpkin seed, and one resident FW eel. There are some points of interest along the way, including a dive platform for skills testing in 15’ of water, a car, a tractor, an a 30’ wreck on the far side.
