I dove this once in the early 70’s and once was enough!
Check the tides as the inlet rips between tides, you’ll want high slack.
To dive the Seaside side of the inlet you need a 4WD and a beach permit. You then pay to enter Island Beach State park, go to the end of the paved road, let some air out of your tires so you don’t sink in the sand and drive to the end of the island..
Shark River is more interesting and a lot easier to do.
