Adventure Aquarium - Camden NJ

Loading...
Adventure Aquarium is a shore accessible salt water dive site, located at 1 Riverside Drive, Camden, NJ 08103. This dive site has an average rating of 5.00 out of 5 from 1 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 21-25ft/6-8m. The average visibility is 101-110ft/31-34m.

A couple years ago I dove in the shark tank at the aquarium. It was one of the "Adventures" they offered. At the time I dove with 26 sharks(12 sandtiger, 12 sandbar, and 2 sawtooth). They provided everything except your mask. Very neat dive. Currently I do not see this adventure on their website but I spoke with a volunteer diver from the aquarium a couple weekends ago and he said they were still offering it but it just was not popular.

What You Get: Included in the Swim with the Sharks price is your admission to the aquarium and free parking for 1 car per paid participant. You will also receive a souvenir t-shirt, souvenir snorkel and mask, and memories to last a lifetime! (All gear except bathing suits, towels, water shoes and toiletries will be provided.) Admission is not included for any ’viewing guests’ accompanying you on the day of your Adventure. Viewing guests are required to pay general admission to enter Adventure Aquarium.

Availability: Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm

The only thing I would add is this - my son, daughter and I did this. But by swimming with the sharks - it really means you are on the overhang of the tank. You are not swimming you are peering over the ledge with a mask and snorkel. You can not stick your hands over the edge or get over the edge due to the attendants monitoring your movements. So you are in about 3 feet of water and can stand up at any point in time. Was it fun - yes but I would have spent my money on other "Aquarium Dives" not a peer over the ledge and watch sharks from a distance.
The sting ray spot was fun - I will say that.

But I can understand why this activity is not popular.
