Stay at La Mission as its very nice and right next to the dive center and the marina. Many great dining options within 1 - 3 blocks of the hotel. Try a different one every night, they’re all good! Diving...great vis. Coronado has cool rock formations, seals and abundant see life. Carman has clear water and a variety of fish....between the two islands we saw whales, spotted eagle rays, seals, turtles, multicolored parrot fish, jacks, snappers, grunts, sergeant majors, look downs, jacks and many many more. On two of the dives we spent 30+ minutes in giant fish balls. Amazing! And all 5 minutes from the airport. Will repeat for sure! If you go, try one of Rafa’s homemade sandwiches.

mammothbuck - 11/21/2013 2:57 AM I went scuba diving here on 10/11/2013. Average viz: 61-70ft/19-21m. Water temp: 76-80°F/24-27°C. Loreto is a great place to dive. Warm water, great vis and lots of fish. Dive with seals on Coronado, see whales and spotted eagle rays at Desonte. Go with Dolphin Dive Center. Rafa is a great guide/dive master and stay at La Mission as it is right next to the dive center and the marina. And I would highly recommend eating at a different place every night. All the restaurants are within 3 blocks walking distance and all were great. lerpy - 11/21/2013 5:24 AM I will second that, this is where I did my original training for my OW.
