mammothbuck - 12/19/2013 3:33 AM Okay for so cal. Viz ranges from 10-25 feet, can get pretty murchy at times. Surge is also highly variable. Temps range from high 50’s to low 70’s depending on the time of year. There are some fish at times (but not many). Great place for Leopard Sharks in the summer. The negatives - much of La Jolla is crowded. Overly crowded. Lots of traffic. Highly limited parking. If you find a place in a lot, good luck getting in or out of the lot, good luck getting in or out of the lot within an hour as people line up an wait trying to poach parking spaces. If you find a place on the street, be prepared to carry your gear a long, long way. No refill station anywhere, so either bring several tanks or be prepared to do only one dive. Its not a dive destination and more like a short day trip. My recommendation - if you go, go so early that you beat everyone else there. Get there at 6 or 7am, but no later. If you get there late, your experience will suck.

Ed - 12/24/2011 3:03 PM Rating Added: 3 The site is easy to access and has plenty of parking. Very difficult to get out of the when the waves are high as the sand bottom disappears from under your feet. Good visibility but not as many fish as I would have expected.
