I went scuba diving here on 2/14/2009. Average viz: 71-80ft/22-24m. Water temp: 71-75°F/22-24°C.
Great dive. Entry was a little tough via the lava. Once in went to the wall to south and saw two mid sized mantas. Access is easier from the beach. Live and learn.

Good dive. We entered over the rocks (a little tricky) but you could also walk down to the beach for a more gradual entry. Lots of eels and if you get down around 80 feet there is a rock ring that eels and shrimp hide in. We also saw a tiger shark swim past about 20 yards from us but it didn’t seem too interested in us.

Wow!! what a cool dive today. ok first off we headed out to the mouth of the boat channel, found a pair of pipi fish in a puka under the large boulder, swam out a bit into the blue and encountered a pod of spinner dolphins for what seemed like forever, cruised back into shore and swam through a school of hellers barracuda and in 15 feet of water had a 12ft tiger shark swim by, in addition to all the reef fish. This dive never ceases to provide just what I wasn’t expecting.

Lots to see, be careful as it is next to the harbor boat channel.
