You must take the Spring Lake Dive Authorization Course before you can dive here.
The course costs $230 but you are certified for life. There is no charge for future visits.
You have to have 30 logged dives to take the course. Before the course you have to
read a short book and answer some homework questions. It’s a one day course. Half
the day is classroom lecture and the other half is two dives. The course is easy but you
will need to demonstrate solid buoyancy skills during the first dive or you will fail. If you
pass the buoyancy tests the second dive is basically a nice guided tour.
San Marcos has hotels, restaurants, and everything else you need to stay here.
They have restricted hours of operation but you can get air fills and other scuba
support at The Dive Shop.
