No longer fabulous diving due to coral bleaching. Resorts are over run with Chinese tourists. All are camera mad including the few divers among them. Ignorant.
Huge interesting artificial reef structures with poor viz and sometimes a lot of fish and sometimes none. one gigondous turtle asleep on top of one.
Sipadan is wonderful IF there is some current.
Friendly feral cats, LARGE "komodo-like" lizards, fruit bats

Incredible marine life diversity, healthy and scenic coral reefs - a paradise for macro divers. For those who like deep blue diving - schools of barracudas, jack fish and various ray species can be seen on any given day.

By far the best dives ever, the corals and fish around Sipadan are breathtaking! Dozens and dozens of white-tip sharks, black-tip sharks, the occasional grey shark, all gliding calmly around the divers or sleeping on the bottom. Many green and leatherback turtles, at Lobster Lair they were everywhere! A school of 15-25 huge bump head parrotfish is cruising around the island, a fabulous encounter. Barracudas, large schools of jacks, trevallies, many clown triggerfish, morays, garden eel, blue cornet fish, and all the smalls you can imagine. The corals are also fabulous and incredibly diverse.
