Canyon Lake is an all around nice dive. The visibility is decent and there are quite a few things to see underwater. There are many common freshwater fish and plants. And there is wrecked cars and boats at about 40 to 60 feet and a forest at 60 to 80 feet. There are three places that provide the most common water access; North Park, Comal Park, and Overlook Park. The best diving is at Overlook Park.
Cayon Lake is great for recreational diving, there is a even a town that was covered by water when the lake was filled. I have heard some complaints about the murkiness, but this year the water was much clearer due to lack of inflow from the drought.
