Kahala Barges is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located in Oahu, HI. This dive site has an average rating of 4.00 out of 5 from 5 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 101-110ft/31-34m. The average visibility is 91-100ft/28-30m.
Off the south end of Oahu in Maunalua Bay there rest 5 barges in different locations about the bay. This is an artificial reef project by The State of Hawaii. The depth ranges from about 50’ to about 100’. Some have the tops falling in. (so be careful) The barges normally have turtles sleeping inside, rays cruising by, and lots opf corral and small fish above. The smallest one known as "Baby Barge" sits next to a ledge that drops about another 20’. And there is a small cave in the ledge with either sleeping turtles or whitetip sharks. (have a small light with you. It’s a dark little cave. A turtle swimming out scared the crap out of me!) Each dive is a little different, so dive them all. :)
