British Battle Cruiser HMS Repulse is one of the biggest and most interesting world war II wrecks anywhere in the world. At 242 meters in length, 36000 gross tons, 3 sets of 15" main guns and fully penetrable this is any wreck divers dream come true. She was sunk (together with Battleship HMS Prince of Wales) by Japanese torpedo bombers 10th december 1941 and now rests 50 nautical miles north of
Tioman Island in 55 meters of water with the hull being accessible at 32 meters. Main attractions are the main 15" guns, 4" anti aircraft guns, conning tower, aircraft hangar, torpedo damage, entire bow lifted off the seabed, the 4 massive propellers (5m diameter) and plenty more. Marine life include massive schools of barracuda, cobia, snappers, batfish, jacks. Resident marble rays, a grandfather turtle, giant morays, massive groupers, blacktips, very large cobia. Occasional whalesharks, manta rays, eagle rays, marlin and dolphins. Decompression diving is recommended, but experienced open water divers will be able to explore some of the shallower parts of the wreck.
