I went scuba diving here on 9/18/2022. Average viz: 31-35ft/9-11m. Water temp: 81-85°F/27-29°C.
Went out with Panama City Dive Center and the SCUBA Friends dive club out of Tallahassee. Were one of the first in the water and saw a very large (probably Loggerhead) sea turtle hanging out in the sand near the stern of the tug. I think we were one of the few to see it because on our second pass it had moved on. Some barracuda hiding out underneath the stern. I still haven’t found the octopus that hides in one of the port holes that people keep talking about. If we end up out there again this year that will be my mission.

I went scuba diving here on 6/12/2022. Average viz: 41-50ft/12-15m. Water temp: 76-80°F/24-27°C.
Fun dive. Visibility was so much better than the last time I was here. Felt like almost a completely different site. Saw two goliath groupers off the port side of the tug. Some grumpy toad fish hiding in the corners.

I went scuba diving here on 11/6/2016. Average viz: 71-80ft/22-24m. Water temp: 76-80°F/24-27°C.
Excellent visibility left the entire wreck in view from the top of the descent all the way to the bottom. This is a ’young’ wreck so not as much ’marco’ sea life as others - but it’s also intact, upright, and mostly complete which was fun.

Viz was not as good as I would have liked but not a bad dive. Lots of life and a big ray on the bottom to meet you!

5. 6/15/14 Hathaway Bridge Span 12 – Boat dive (Diver’s Den) – 52’ 24 minutes. Large bridge span. Smaller fish. Dive master found some old dive gear on bottom. 73 degrees bottom. 3000psi

A ridiculous amount of fish active on this dive. They were so thick you couldn’t hardly see the wreck without swatting them out of the way. Very relaxing and enjoyable dive.

Great dive. Saw lots of Angelfish, a barracuda, and a large grouper.

Horrible visibility this past weekend! I have been told that its better in the later part of the year. We may go back to try it one more time.

Dove this one in October 2010 (should have been my wife’s fourth dive but she called it due to 4’-6’ seas at the site). Great site to dive lots of relief and interesting fish. I saw a sea robin where the hull meets the sand.

I returned to the Red Sea Tug today. The visibility was approximately 15’. The regular gang of Angelfish were there, like always, but nothing else worth mentioning. The wreck was beautiful and is always a pleasurable dive site. I was aboard Panama City Dive Charters’ 25’ Parker since "Steel Slinger" is still down for repairs. As always Capt Dave and DM/Inst Reid, were amazing!

That is one of my favorites in this area. I had the most awesome opportunity to walk the deck of her about 2 months before she was finnally cleared to be sunk. Then again with a long time buddy just a few weeks after she was laid to rest. I was still able at that time get a cam lifter out of the port engine that had the head removed. Wait until you get on that one with 60 plus foot of vis.
