Depends on which of the 10000 islands you dive and the season
The furthered atolls have the best diving

Both of my diving trips to the Maledives have been a real treat. I have been diving stationed on Biyadhoo (North Male Atoll) and from a boat (MY Amba) in Haa Alifu & Haa Dhaalu Atoll. Both trips were stunning!

The Maldives are known for strong currents so not recommended for beginners. This is also true in order to preserve the wonderful Coral gardens that you find here.

Was here for 3 weeks in 2000 working on a private sail boat - we all had a tough time finding living coral reefs to dive, and found out later most had been killed off due to a "La Nina", and water temps too high. Very sad...

I went scuba diving here on 6/5/2012. Average viz: 26-30ft/8-9m. Water temp: 71-75°F/22-24°C.
