Milford Sound is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located in Te Anu, Fiordland Np, New Zealand. The maximum depth is over 150ft/46m.
Amazing diving. Tannin-rich run off from the steep cliffs surrounding the sound (and LOTS of rain) create a ~4m layer of dark freshwater floating on clear seawater. Get below the freshwater, and deep sea creatures, fooled by the darkness, come up shallower than normal.
Kelp, sealions, wrasse, eels and sharks, what’s not to like!
And the surface scenery is unbelievable.
