Shoreham Jetties (Nuke plant) is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located in Shoreham, NY. This dive site has an average rating of 3.00 out of 5 from 1 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 21-25ft/6-8m. The average visibility is 26-30ft/8-9m.
You can park at the end of Creek Rd in a state lot if you are not a town resident. I usually put in my kayak at the ramp and paddle to the site but I have seen divers walk there. The walk is about 1/4 mile after a short swim across the creek. The channel between the jetties has not been maintained since the plant was closed so it is shallow. Best time to dive is high slack tide.

http://www.aquaexplorers.com/beachdivingNYshorehamtwinjetties.htmTake the Long Island Expressway to Exit 69 North, Wading River Road. Take this to the end and make a left on North County Road. Take this road to the end and make a left on North Wading River Road. Make a right on Sound Road to the end. The road curves left and becomes Creek Road. Take this to the end, and you will find a small parking lot on the left side. To get to the jetties, you must swim across the creek (Wading River), and then walk. Don’t let anyone fool you: it’s a long walk, but well worth it. Although there is no sign, I believe that this parking lot is restricted to town residents. There are two other options: drop off your gear and park down the road, or, if you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle, there might be an access road on the west side of the power plant.
