At the east side of Roatan, you will find the island of Barbareta.
The diving there is worldclass most notably on the site called Barbareta Wall (aka Morat Wall).
You will see numerous fissures, overhangs and caves on the 130-feet tall wall. The caves are often used by nurse sharks for resting. Corals, gorgonians, and sponges furthermore decorate the wall, which makes it great for underwater photography.
The dive normally begins on the shelf at the top of the wall, at a depth of c. 6 meters (20 feet). As there are stong currents here, the diving is for advanced divers only.
