Before it got all "resorty"...this little plop of paradise, dubbed locally as "gilligan’s island"...was a great spot to take in the local fishies. At that time, there was no electricity on the island but they did manage a wonderful menu of lobster, steak and chicken all cooked on a fire pit. :) Local watercraft takes you to the island early on...but around 4:30 everyone packs up and heads back to the mainland as high tide comes in and there is much less of a beach. It appears that they only support snorkeling now, unless you charter a boat which moors off the reef of Sandy Island.
