Point Lobos State Marine Conservation Area is a shore accessible salt water dive site, located in Monterey, CA. This dive site has an average rating of 4.33 out of 5 from 3 scuba divers.

The site is park of Point Lobos National Reserve and you can have instant access from the shore. The average depth is 40 feet with good visibility. It’s a reef dive great for all divers.

Be prepared to see harbor seals, abalone, leopard sharks and rock cod. Mostly great conditions year round. Viz can be up to 80 feet.

After an April dive, one diver says, "The dive was very easy. I had never dove here before. We suited up at Whalers cove and headed out. Very easy to navigate this place. The sea life is amazing: harbor seals, sea anemones, rock fish, kelp fish, eels, etc... And the visibility and kelp are Amazing"

Best diving in the area, especially if you can launch a boat here.

Shore diving can be better in other places, if you can only shore dive.



That said, there are great maps of the area and plenty of other divers around most days, so you can pick up tips and pointers every weekend, and most weekdays.
