Key Biscayne Reef, Biscayne National Park is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located at 9700 SW 328 Street, Homestead, FL 33033. The maximum depth is 26-30ft/8-9m. The average visibility is 51-60ft/16-18m. This dive site provides bathrooms and airfills.
The address shown are the offices, not the park, I’ve made that mistake once. At the moment there is no dive concession in the park so no address for the marina.
This park has beautiful reefs off Key Biscayne probably better than Key Largo’s and a wall that is an advanced dive but has had trouble keeping a park dive concession. Rainbow Reef in the Key’s was one of the ops in the past, another was a satellite shop out of Miami. Part of the problem is the park closes at dusk so that limits afternoon dives during the winter and no night dives which cuts into the dive shop$ income.
This seems to be a nursery for other Florida reefs with most of the fish life being juveniles probably because of the wetlands and shallows behind the Key..
We have also seen Manatees here in the park marina but getting in marina water too be with them is not a good idea.
I’ve heard that some Miami shops will sometimes dive here but that may not be legal. RayC/LA
