This pond although very muddy on the bottom is spring fed and with good sunlight has surprising clarity. Bring your buoyancy skills because a bounce off the bottom is the end of that area for a while. Depth is pretty much [10’, but navigating the lily pad stalk, looking at the plant life, and the occasional bass is interesting.

DiveMeToTheMoon - 6/23/2014 8:32 AM Rating Added: 3 I was there with gemiller on the 22nd. As he said, the vis was surprisingly good. I’ve been eyeing this one up for a few months now, and since we were going to bounce several holes on the Swatara creek, we threw this one into the mix just for a goof, and it turned out to be pretty decent. Swimming through the roots and stalks of the Yellow Pond Lilys that are all around three sides of this pond is really interesting. On the surface it looks like you couldn’t really penetrate that area, as the surface is completely covered with them, but from below you see that many of them come from one root system, and so you can easily weave between them. We both noticed the cold spots, and both were checking depth thinking we were getting deeper, thermocline, but then when we weren’t, Greg mentioned that it must be the springs coming into it. Very cool, no pun intended. My gopro battery died before we got into this, so I am going back for sure to get video of navigating the maze of Pond Lily stalks. Glad we jumped in just for a goof. Good dive, very shallow, but you have it to yourself too.
