Divers Cove is a shore accessible salt water dive site, located in Laguna, CA. This dive site has an average rating of 3.50 out of 5 from 30 scuba divers.

When Neptune is cooperating, this becomes one of the most popular dive sites in the area. Because the marine life is protected here, you’ll find a wide variety of fish, friendlier than usual.
Make a left on Myrtle Street about 1/2 mile North of Broadway and Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna. Turn right on Cliff.
My opinion of Diver’s Cove as a beginning snorkeler was that it was absolutely great. Lots of metered parking to be had generally. A quarter machine is available (it was out of order one time that I went) about 600-1000 feet north of the entry to Diver’s Cove. Two entries to this beach. The south entry is a small-medium length ramp with showers at the bottom, the north entry a down-sloped walkway to stairs. I believe there were two lifeguards, one at the north part of the beach and one to the south. Bathrooms right at the top of the south ramp. I had the most fun snorkeling at the north part of the beach. Up there is a big rock formation that juts out into the water and curves around toward another beach. You can walk out onto the rocks except during high tide. My first time out I swam along the rocks and viewed the sea life on the bottom and on the side of the rocks. Couple of big sea stars, kelp, eelgrass, sand bass, lots of garibaldi and other fish I didn’t recognize as a beginner. A horde of sea urchins and anemones further around the rock to the north. I also saw a bunch of small bat rays, probably about 10 or 15 different ones on my last outing. 2-3 foot surf when I was there, and great visibility starting at a mere 20-30 feet from shore. Lots of scuba classes in the morning on the weekends. This site has really peaked my interest in snorkeling, and eventually getting scuba certified.

I would rather dive Shaw’s but this one is OK. It can get crowded during nice weather and on the weekends. Lots of beginners and classes.

I went scuba diving here on 6/23/2013. Average viz: 5-10ft/2-3m. Water temp: 61-65°F/16-18°C.
Viz wasn’t that great today, but entering in a bit rougher surf that what my son Nick was used to. It was a snorkeling trip and even though Viz was rough it was an excellent time to work on surf entry and exit. He did well and i’m proud of him. Once we got out and felt a bit of the surge, we held hands so that I could keep him close. Ok, so that hand holding was more for my peace of mind than his. We did get to see kelp, no fish. He was a little bummed by that, but I told him that not every snorkeling trip or diving trip was going to be the best. Good memories though.

A good place to start with a fairly easy entrance.

I went scuba diving here on 7/11/2012. Average viz: 5-10ft/2-3m. Water temp: 56-60°F/13-16°C.
This was a group dive with NBTT dive club. This was our largest group (11) for a mid week night dive. This seems like a site more appropriate for classes with lots of sand and very limited kelp and small reef area. The most interesting thing was I found a beach chair. We were hoping to see more fish, bat rays and such but did not. With very high surf and no where else to go this might be a good option but otherwise would divert to either shaws or woods at minimum if surf is up. Get out and dive with us NBTT Divers (http://www.nbttdiveclub.com)

For my first open water dive things certainly could have been worse! The site was very beautiful, although visibilty was only about 10ft that day. Lots of wildlife was observed. Location contained of kelp forests, eels, urchins, local fish, giant crab, and lots of interesting rock formations. Above water dolphins, and birds were around quite often.
