I was wondering if anyone has an expierence with this device (http://www.gmcscuba.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=63050 ) . Also I am looking for a web site that has the safe and proper way to use it as well...( I have a side scan unit... want to use the tow board to search sonar found spots that look interesting)

First test run went off beautifuly. Lake Ontario water was like glass. My Bud Jeff did as 20 minute sweep of a small area at 45-55ft depth. Viz was 20-30ft and was little to no worries about mask wobble or reg problems. Towed at a dead idle speed(3-4mph) Lots of time to check out the area, look at putor and compass. All in all a great day on the water... Stay tuned... Any questions please feel free to shot me a line.

Sounds AWESOME. Did you start on the surface and dive as the boat takes off?

We found it easier to let diver go down to about 25-30 feet to start... easier to equalize and prep for the ride.. same at end of run..Let go of board, send a saftey marker up and do your saftey stop that way...Again a few little tweeks to do but all in all ..Looks like a great way to check out an area I mark on my side csan unit...

WOW,, havent seen one of these in years!! when i was a kid a friends dad told us about these, the term back then was called a "planer board" and thats what it was,, a wooden board with 2 handles, although,, found out a few things very fast about them,, go very very slow, Ive ended up with my mask around my ankles, when "somebody" up top thinks we should go a "lil faster" lol it was all good though, fun times of bein a kid which also, the person on top in the boat had to be warned that we "Were NOT water skiing"
