PADI classes are pretty easy to cheat your way through on-line.
The question is, how much do you want to learn and retain. No amount of
brow beating by an instructor is going to help you learn. Find some one you are comfortable with
and dedicate the time you need to learn what you need to not only pass the tests but to be safe.
With practical application of what you have studied most of it will become second nature.

Orbit has been around forever and in this business that means you must be doing something right.
You can take the classes online and just do the pool sessions and test at a PADI shop which cuts out the travel and classroom time. That would make the course short unless you have problems in the pool. Somethings you’ll only learn in the pool, no way out of a book! Something like the USAF firefighting course I recently took online, sweeping the fire with the mouse, what was I supposed to have learned from that!?

Thank you LA. Heading there with a fireman after work today to sign up for the april 27 class. one full day. Half in the books and half day in the pool.
Just need the 4 open water dives after that.
They were not sure when they would get the boats in and start their open water dives. I really don’t want to do them in the Sound around Orbits. Tried to free dive a few times around there. 2 foot or less is all I could see. Dark as hell down there.
Any rec of a place in RI to do the open water dives in? I was told you can’t do them all in one day. 3 max per day. So I guess this would have to be a 2 visit run to RI.
