avoid it if you can. if you cant, look for a cert class. dont penny pinch on safety gear. dont forget your safety gear. always dive with a buddy.....?

what kind of saftey gear would you recomend for blackwater diving? remember,you can`t see your buddy!

ive done some solo diving and i would say the biggest thing is to have someone topside if possible.

BUBBLE WATCHER ON THIS RIVER IS A GREAT IDEA. JUST THE BOAT BEING NEAR YA HELPS ALOT FOR ASCENT. BUT, I HAVE STILL HAD IDIOTS COME BLAZING BY WITHIN 30 FT !!! AND LOOK AT US LIKE WE ARE STUPID !!! ONE ACTUALLY WENT FLYING UP INTO A RICE FIELD, IT ALMOST MADE US POOP OUR WETSUITS IT WAS SO FUNNY !

its about 43 right now. but its not too bad ive been out working in -16f about a month ago. the coldest water ive diove in is 43 f. in a wetsuit none the less. im going down this weekend to blue hole nm. for my advanced cert. and ill be getting my drysuit cert. also so i wont freeze my &%$ off anymore. from now on lots of smiles.

I hear ya Jim, the best you need around here is a semi-dry 7mil. good luck on yer aow,and an early congrats.
