You can try eBay or Craigslist.com for used one, Most sellers on eBay are legit and honest but buyer beware! Some BCD’s I have seen go for a fraction of what a new one will sell for. If you do buy a used one be sure to have a local dive shop service it to be sure everything is good to go before you useit. Remember it is your life that will depend on that piece of equipment.

I would try your local dive shop first. Remember, cheaper is not always better. You are talking about "life support" systems that NEED to be there for you when you NEED them like at 60+ feet. The reason I refer you to a local dive shop is because of service. You can most of the time, depending on the shop, buy used or rental equipment and they will stand behind and service it. It may be hard to contact your ebay seller for a replacement part should some defect arise? If you don’t have a good local dive shop, I have done business and recommend Scuba.com, and scubatoys.com on the internet. Good equipment should last you a long, long time as long as you keep it serviced and in good order. Good luck and good diving!

I like the back inflation style with a hard plate...Hollis, Dive Rite and the like. I never liked the vest style in cold water. I dive a Dive Rite Trans plate with a Venture wing and love it. It is stable and comfortable. I dove it in FL a couple of months ago...first warm water dive... and even over a 3 mm suit it was still comfortable. I think this style is the most versitile.

Righunter had some very good advice and I second that. I do not recomend purchase other then dive shops where you can get quality advice, fit, and service. Ask your local shops about trying out the equipment, There are alot of quility BC’s on the market, purchase per your diving goals, Rec,Tech, or Pro. Do you Have a local shop where you train, many shops require use of there gear by there staff, something to consider. I use Auaqulung/Seaquest products Have a Pro Unlimited, and plan to go with the WTX Technical setup as I get ready to go that Direction in diving.
