It’s possible to detect the image orientation with scripts before users upload them but I don’t think Greg is using them. I know from experience that images still seem to come out wrong from time to time. Maybe if enough users ask for a rotation tool Greg will put one in. Until then the only thing I can suggest is to send the image to yourself in an email and then rotate it there before uploading it.
