Both dives were amazing! We first decided to dive out of Makena Landing because there were tons of divers to ask for directions and it turns out that if you head to the right you end up in two of the largest caves in the Five Caves site, they sort of overlap. The reef out of Makena was teeming with life. We found three new eels I’ve never seen before. We found the two caves also that were much larger than I expected. One of them had three huge turtles sleeping and then another one swam past us as we were leaving. Shallow dive so we were able to get just over an hour dive time with plenty air to spare. Second dive was Mala Pier and we were pressed for time to relieve the sitter. Entry and exit were a little tricky because you have to walk out through knee high water for 100 yards to get to the deeper water. But once there it’s magical. The rubble from pier is covered in growth and looks like something out of a Sci Fi movie. You swim in and out and around and under so much debris. Quite fun dives!
