I am new to Florida and own a boat . I am interested in diving and fishing, the reefs and wreaks are good for both, how do I know if you can fish at the dive sites, or as long as you don’t see a diver down flag is it ok to fish ?

From my diving and reading, you must stay 100’ from a diver flag, or 300’ from a dive vessel.
I believe that
You can fish anywhere as long as there are no divers.

Be sure to check with locals about restricted areas for no diving, ie sanctuary areas, local habitation areas etc.

Well if you take up spear fishing you might just sell your rods and rails at your next garage sale.
I joke with my fishing buddies about pulling all their $9.00 lures off New Jersey wrecks.
Give it a try.

Florida also has some areas that the FWC (Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission) restricts for fishing. The link below shows some of the locations but there may be others. myfwc.com/fishing/saltwater/recreational/maps/

You will never fish from a boat again once you try it!
