Weak tank fills.

What is up with all of the weak tank fills in the US lately?

My tanks are rated to 3000 and 3442 psi. Any less than that is unacceptable. All of the excuses..... I don’t care about the age of your compressor, size of your cascade, or whatever. Just get the tanks filled as well as a tiny little island in the Caribbean can.

In Florida I routinely had over 4000psi fills. I’m not saying that an LDS has to do anything that they’re afraid of, but at least get to rated pressure.

If the LDS can’t even fill a bottle, I’m sure as heck not going to buy more complex and expensive items there.

Might be a business opportunity here. Especially in the mid west.

Gauge your tank before you leave, if it’s not full tell them to make it right.

Recreational scuba tanks are filled with compressed, purified air. This air contains about 20.9% oxygen. In my opinion, the average open water certified diver using a standard aluminum 80-cubic-foot tank on a 40-foot dive will be capable to stay down for about 45 minutes before surfacing with a safe store of air. So check your tank before you go for scuba diving, if your tank is not full, make it right.

Guess I’m not as much of an air hog after all. I’ll get almost an hour at that depth, right on the edge of deco. (50-60fsw IIRC) 1-5 min that clears on our way up the reef.

Still stinks that a tiny island like Roatan has better fills than the mid west.
