No, he needs to be a faster swimmer than those Sharks! Sharks are like Dogs, if you run they will chase. They swim 1000’s of times faster than you. You won’t win, they will. Stay vertical, Stay Still and they will eventually swim on. Or slowly swim towards the boat, but keep I eye contact and stay vertical. If your vertical, you don’t look like a seal...meaning dinner.

Had this happen once back in the early 70’s when we still thought every shark wanted to eat us. Something on the anchor rode had their interest and we needed that anchor line to find the boat :( We followed the line up and they parted but we didn’t know what to expect, now the Captain would charge more if he knew it was a shark dive and PADI would sell you another card :)

No, they would push more legislation to force you to pay for another card.
