Just another dive bum. Too many dives, yet nowhere near enough! I used to say my home is where my dive bag is. I still like that though the amount of diving I am getting to do right now makes this a bit of a misleading statement. Hope to change this soon, thus the reason for joining this great site.
Languages spoken: English, Dutch, French, some Indonesian and soon Portuguese.
Diving started in 1970. Certified PADI OW in 1974. NAUI AI in 1978 (NO certs between OW and AI!), PADI OWSI in 1980, retired in 1990. I put 9999 dives in the diving profile as there is not a higher number possible, but that might be a bit shy of the real number by a few hundred. Still learning.
Oh yeah, YMCA Archeological Diver cert (instructor Professor Joel Shiner) in 1978. Worked on the Aquarena Springs project for 1.5 years! My buddy and I were allowed to mark and clear the first square of the grid. How neat is that!!!
Now looking for buddies who would like to dive in my area, Sesimbra Portugal or to go to the Red Sea for some diving in Sharm with the fine folks at Oonas.
