I`m 39 years old. I qualified as a Rescue Diver through PADI back in 2006 but I don`t get as many chances to dive as I`d like. I have a BA in history which means I`m a bookworm. I work in the hotel industry at home (for now, but I`m working on a teacher certification) but I`m also in the Guard so lately I`m not at home much. When I dive, I almost always have a class or some kind of learning oppurtunity in mind. I usually enjoy the class type dives almost as much as just dropping in the water and going. My dive experiences have been pretty interesting though. I got qualified in the Red Sea and I did a trip to Hawaii and saw some interesting sites around Oahu. Hoping to do more. Eventually, I want to be able to do some freshwater diving around my home and see if those fish and such are as interesting as a reef.

mermaidTX - 3/26/2008 9:33 AM Thank you! I haven`t dove since last September so I am ready to get in the water again. I leave on a cruise this Sunday and when the ship stops in Grand Cayman, I will be getting married on 7 Mile Beach. It just doesn`t get any better than that!

Kirkpfeil - 4/26/2007 12:00 AM I agree that people screaming can be irritating. That`s why I am typing. I think for the sake of consistancy/safety it should be one way or the other. A divers safety should not be confusing and should be consistant. For one ot the same reason that Certifying Diving Organization try teaching the same way each time. So nothing is missed and it becomes second nature.

ScottPadipro - 4/08/2007 12:00 AM Just keep diving Mike and you can do it. It took me years to get to this level, mostly because it`s so damn expensive, one set of doubles is nearly $1000 and my rebreather was $8000 not including the training to use it. You really need to be comfortable in the water and know that you could handle any situtation that comes along without panicing. If you panic, you die. At this level every dive is basicly a solo dive, even if your buddy is right there with you. If something happens they will eventually have to leave you before they run out of gas so you have to be completely self sufficient. Nothing but time, training and experience can give you that and I`m still working on that myself. Keep training and slowely push yourself to the next level and you`ll get there. Dive safe, Scott
