I recently got my Advanced Open Water from PADI so that I could dive on the Spiegel Grove in Key Largo. Best dive I’ve ever had. What a magnificent wreck. I’ve vowed to spend more time diving, and since I live pretty far from any pretty diving, I’ve planned to keep up my skills by diving in two lakes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area: Twin Vee Key and Clearsprings (this is a misnomer).

For some reason, I’ve never had a friend or family member who wanted to scuba dive, although I’ve tried to talk people into it. My husband is supportive but not a diver. My seven-year-old has sworn she will be my buddy, but I have to wait about six years to share that awesome experience with my little Nibblet. I’d love to dive the Flower Gardens off the Texas coast, but I’d have to bring a buddy along on that three-day live-aboard trip. I hear the coral spawning is amazing to see on a night dive. It would be great to develop a friendship with another diver who wants to try out her skills in a more challenging environment while roughing it a little on a live-aboard.

I just got back from Hawaii and got a chance to do some diving off the Big Island. I hadn’t been diving in a year and a half, so it was so good to get back in the water. I bought some dramamine for my ome day boat trip in PR so might as well put it to good use, right? Before, I did not wanna do any liveaboard so I’ll try the Flower Gardens first. I’m hoping to get a dive in before it gets too cold, maybe something close to DFW so I could do it one day. It’s not exciting, but it keeps my skills up. How’s your diving?
