I became certified with the intentions of only being a public saftey diver. I do belong too the Fair Grove Fire Departments SURT (Special Underwater Rescue Team) but really enjoy diving with friends recreationally. I just recently become certified to dive Closed Circuit Rebreather through Richie Kohler. I dive the new Silent Diving Systems Evolution Rebreather with Vision Electronics. I just recently became the president of the North State Dive Club here in North Carolina and the club is a member of the North Carolina Piedmont Dive Rescue Association (www.ncpdra.org).

Cool to hear that about the Manatee’s! I always have liked and admired them, even before I got into diving. I had a run in with a Harbor Seal last month in Monterey Bay, I was looking at some decorator crabs, and when I looked up to signal my buddy to come look, this Harbor Seal was no more than 2 feet from my face, I have to admit it scared the crap out of me at first! I just wasn’t expecting to see him there at that time. I can just imagine being supprised by a Manatee that way. LOL!!!
