My diving adventure started in 1990 when I was certified through the YMCA while in the Navy here in San Diego. I went on to Navy 2nd Class Diver School at NAB Coronado Island, and then spent six years as a Navy Deep Sea Diver. During that time I continued to dive for fun looking for shark’s teeth in the Cooper River during my tour in Charleston, SC and doing a lot of wreck diving off the coast of Virginia while stationed at Mobile Diving & Salvage Unit Two (MDSU2). It was in Virginia that I began my trek towards being an Instructor for PADI. After separating from the Navy 1998 I began my pursuit of teaching SCUBA, completing my IDC and IE in May of 1998. I have been teaching or dive-mastering since.
I am currently a teaching status PADI Course Director, work for SCUBAPRO, and serve on San Diego Sheriff’s S&R Dive Team.
